What Is A Good Cpu Voltage

My CPU is running at about 12v at idle and 14v -.
What is a good cpu voltage. However most motherboards will allow you to set anything up to 14v before notifying you of the danger. Click on Unlock Adjustable Voltage and undervolt the CPU core CPU Cache and Intel GPU by -100mV initially using Offset Voltage slider and hit apply. AVX offset for normal to bad chips should be 2 or 3.
Offset is useful for getting a higher clock speed normal loads like gaming vs renderingencoding with AVX. But it is really brutal on the CPU and requires more voltage to remain stable. In the new window tick the Unlock Adjustable Voltage box.
Is high voltage okay with good cooling CPU. So the good news is that if you have an Intel CPU you finally have a concrete number to work with. Next we decrease the Offset Voltage slider which is the undervolting part.
They wont change much but. The voltage was set to 125 V in the BIOS shown as CPU VID in the picture and as you can see this voltage threshold is never exceeded. Each CPU model has its own defined VID but not all CPUs in the same model actually require the same voltage values to run stably.
From my previous experience with Intel processors the voltage remains below 1v in idle and around 1v - 12v in load. But I have a liquid cooler and when I stress my CPU the highest temp would be 75 celcius. Once youve done that click CPU Cache in the FIVR Control section and set it to the same voltage.
CPU Voltage with Vdroop. For my i7-8700K the TJunction TJ Max is 100-degrees Celsius. Too high voltage on your CPU can actually fry the chip killing it.
