Will The Alternator Charge A Low Battery

My understanding is that with the engine running the alternator Motorola 55AMP internally regulated should be producing roughly a volt more than the batteries to charge the batteries under power with minimal load.
Will the alternator charge a low battery. If you have an inboard or IO inboardoutboard engine then you too are likely to have an alternator to charge your boat batteries. But it is safe to keep a few pointers in your mind. When people say flat battery they normally mean low charge.
Battery or alternator. Alternator - The alternator could also be the cause here. Starting and running an engine in its simplest form is a three-step process.
The alternator will charge the battery at a constant voltage usually 138 or 142 and electively never a constant current. There the battery is not charged from line power but by the alternator. Today I took out the alternator and checked the bushings etc everything looks ok except for the small bearing its not 100.
However your alternator charges your battery while your battery supplies power to your car. When I start it cold 1500 rpm it charges. The alternator on the other hand is driven by the engine in your car.
But when you drive the car when the engine is running your car alternator can quickly charge the battery. The car battery voltage may pick up when you drive the car for a while to as high as 13VDC a sign that the alternator is charging the battery. A loose or corroded connection at the battery or other ground points can cause the low battery warning message to appear.
Whats causing the problem. A truly flat battery is one that is nearly dead. It is a give and take sort of relationship between the two.
